About Our Charity Work
Since 2004, The founders of Aarathy Trust were visiting and volunteering to many shelter homes in and around Chennai. Those humanity care services were the inspiration behind the start of Aarathy Charitable Trust and Idhaya Vaasal Elders Home. The Trust and Home were started in January of 2008. This was a dream child of the founder of the Trust, S. Parthasarathy (aka) Service Sarathy (Late). Sarathy, being an astonishing service volunteer he taught and guided social services to many youths. Now the home is continued to run in the way he shown, in memory of Service Sarathy.
The old age home is one of the best of its kind in Chennai. Aarathy Trust is also involved in many enviro - health - educational services and social upliftment of poor. We admit destitute elders rescued by volunteers from street sides and received here with police general memo.
The poor and needy patients are also admitted with the reference of NGOs and distance relatives as guardians. To all the elders treated well with proper medical and bed-care support, irrespective of caste and creed. Now in the old age home 40 elderly residents living with us and 13 of them are bed-ridden patients.
Helping others in nothing new to all of us! Our Indian tradition is rich in humanity and always emphasizes charity services in our life. Across the country still we can see bunches of pilgrims' house and choultry, shelter homes, orphanages and other types of philanthropic facilities. These are assisting the travelers, disabled, destitute and poor peoples. This denotes that, food, shelter and clothes were generously shared by the people with downtrodden from time immemorial. Let's continue the philanthropic services in our successive generations too.

them with cheerful words. Because of his ardent desire which was inspired through these services, he had been thinking for a long while to give a kick start for an Elders’ Home. Along with his thick friend Dr.Surya he starting
